Brent Peterson (@brent1330metalfunk) is a West Virginia-based TikToker most known for his bait-and-switch stitches in which he states that he's running for President of the United States in 2024 while using a low-quality phone camera and multiple TikTok filters. His videos gained attention on TikTok due to his schizoposting signifiers and saying "Vote for me for President of the United States. I am Brent Peterson" in every video. He started posting in mid-2022 and received multiple fan edits as his videos gained more engagement. He is considered by some as an AIOPM.
Not much is known about Brent Peterson's background, however, he started posting content to TikTok in mid-2022. On August 26th, 2022, Brent Peterson uploaded his first TikTok video in which he prompted the viewer to vote for him for President of the United States. Over the course of two months, the video received roughly 2,500 plays and over 240 likes (shown below, left). In the weeks that followed his initial upload, Peterson started posting stitches with random videos. On August 28th, 2022, he posted a TikTok that was his first viral hit, earning roughly 1.6 million plays and 204,400 likes in two months (shown below, right).
On September 3rd, 2022, Peterson posted a TikTok that received roughly 5.2 million plays and 771,900 likes in one month (shown below, left). His videos continued earning increased engagement with many of them earning over 1 million plays. For instance, on September 6th, 2022, he posted a TikTok that received roughly 4.2 million plays and 702,800 likes in one month (shown below, right).
As Brent Peterson's stitches became more known on the platform, he started accumulating fan edits that mostly centered on his alleged campaign for the U.S. presidency. On September 16th, 2022, TikToker g3rmanrusei posted the first known Brent Peterson fan edit which compared Peterson to President Joe Biden, reiterating, "Anything he can do, I can do better." The video also used the Dark Brandon image from the 'Soul Of The Nation' speech. In one month, the video received roughly 260,700 plays and 22,500 likes (shown below, left). On October 9th, 2022, TikToker mrcentrelink posted a Brent Peterson fan edit that received roughly 1.1 million plays and 186,900 likes in three days (shown below, right). It included Donald Trump in its contents, referencing his alleged 2024 campaign.

On November 14th, 2022, West Virginia-based TikToker ethan_walker04 posted a video that showed Brent Peterson in real life shopping at the same store as him. He talked to Peterson in the video, making him say, "I am Brent Peterson." In less than a day, the video received roughly 499,800 plays and 150,400 likes (shown below).
