About
Kev Kennedy, also known by his TikTok handle kennedylawfirm and simply as the TikTok Lawyer, is a Tennesse-based lawyer known for his TikTok videos in which he dresses in colorful suits and wears flashy rings while providing free legal advice. Posting videos on TikTok since February 2022, the lawyer went viral on the platform and on Twitter multiple times since then and has been compared to Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
Online History
On February 8th, 2022, Clarksville, Tennessee-based lawyer Kev Kennedy of The Kennedy Law Firm launched a TikTok[1] account under the username kennedylawfirm for his firm, posting the first video[2] on the same day. In the video, Kennedy provided legal advice not to talk to the other's party insurance company after having been injured in a car wreck. The video (shown below, left) received over 462,000 views and 36,900 likes in one year. Several days later, on February 11th, kennedylawfirm posted[3] its first viral TikTok, which gained over 1.8 million views and 168,000 likes in one year (shown below, right).

On April 13th, 2022, @kennedylawfirm posted a TikTok video in which he advised against leaving any DNA traces during an interrogation (such as by drinking water from a bottle), with the video gaining over 5.3 million views and 770,500 likes in one year. On April 15th, Twitter[4] user @kellymakena then posted the video on Twitter, where it gained over 1.7 million views, 9,000 retweets and 76,400 likes in roughly a year, helping bring popularity to kennedylawfirm beyond TikTok (shown below).

In the following year, more videos posted by kennedylawfirm on TikTok went viral. For example, on August 10th, 2022, the lawyer posted a legal advice video[5] that gained over 2.6 million views and 483,000 likes in nine months (shown below, left). On October 27th, kennedylawfirm made another upload[6] that garnered over 6.8 million views and 1.2 million likes in seven months (shown below, right).

Multiple videos by the lawyer were then reuploaded by users on Twitter. For example, on August 18th, 2022, Twitter[7] user @AlldrittOwen posted the August 10th video, with the post going viral shortly after. On March 15th, 2023, Twitter[8] user @SxarletRed reposted another video, with the post subsequently gaining over 2.3 million views, 12,300 retweets and 89,900 likes on the platform in one month (shown below).

Kev Kennedy's Twitter virality was followed by tweets referencing the personality, as well as the use of his catchphrase, "Kev got you covered," in various contexts (example[9] shown below).
Reputation
Kev Kennedy is known for wearing colored suits and flashy jeweled rings in his videos, which he also uses for the purposes of transitions between shots by bringing them close to the camera. Online, Kev Kennedy has often been compared to Saul Goodman, a character from the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul crime drama series.
