Pandpfirm or Pandpfirm2.0, also known as David Pourshalimi, is a criminal defense lawyer at the Perlmutter & Pourshalimi law firm and an influencer on TikTok and Instagram known for his videos taken with clients after their trials where he discusses in detail what they were on trial for and what he ended up getting their sentences reduced to. The original pandpfirm TikTok account was deleted sometime in 2022, resulting in the creation of a new account, @panpfirm2.0, in April 2022 that gained over 14,000 followers in a month. Viewers often joke that Pourshalimi is "freeing supervillains" as the charges he manages to get reduced often seem egregious.

History

Perlmutter & Pourshalimi

Perlmutter & Pourshalimi[1] (P&P) is a Los Angeles law firm that was established in 2018. It is run by attorneys David Pourshalimi (shown below, left), a University of California and Loyola Law School graduate, and Ben Perlmutter (shown below, right), a University of Southern California graduate. P&P covers a wide range of practice areas, including automobile, truck, motorcycle and bicycle accidents, drowning accidents, dog bites, wrongful death suits, elder abuse and neglect and train accidents. Notably, the law firm defended Austin Clay, who was accused of defacing Trump's Hollywood Star in 2018.[3]

Social Media Presence

On April 28th, 2018, the pandpfirm Instagram[2] account made its first post. On June 5th, David P. posted an image to the account smiling with one of his clients, writing, "Only our clients leave court smiling 😁!" (shown below). Several similar images were posted to the account over the following months, most often by Pourshalimi.

On September 19th, Pourshalimi posted a video with a client on Instagram[4] where the client says he was supposed to go to jail but got off with community service and feels "elated," followed by Pourshalimi saying, "hell yeah, let's go," gaining over 1,200 views in four years (shown below). In January 2019, Pourshalimi started regularly posting videos like this to Instagram, often saying "let's go" at the end of the videos.

On April 9th, 2022, Pourshalimi posted his first video to the @pandpfirm2.0 TikTok[6] account (shown below, left). The video is taken with a female client who was accused of domestic assault against the father of her child. Pourshalimi says the father "lied so much" in the case and the case ended up getting dismissed. The video gained over 35,000 views in a month. On April 11th, he posted a video to TikTok[7] with a man who was facing his second DUI (shown below, right). In the video, he says the client had "admittedly overdosed on multiple drugs that night" causing a drug-induced psychosis, crashed into and flipped his car on a freeway and fought with the fire department after they freed him with the jaws of life leading to a resisting arrest charge. Pourshalimi got the DUI reduced to a "wet and reckless" charge and zero jail time. The video gained over 1.2 million views in a month.

Reactions

Commenters on TikTok often joke that Pourshalimi's clients are guilty and that he is setting "villains" free based on the severity of some of the charges that the clients hold, including DUIs, domestic assault and drug charges (examples shown below).
