About
PPKKa 뻑가 is an anonymous South Korean YouTuber known for making videos that attempt to expose what he perceives as "radical feminists" in South Korea. The YouTuber is an outspoken critic of South Korea's 4B movement in which women attempt to distance themselves from men, citing Korea's supposedly systemic misogyny issues. The YouTuber has previously been held responsible by some for the death of South Korean streamer Jammi and her mother, who took their own lives following months of harassment over her use of the pinching hand gesture, which many South Korean males consider to be a sign of radical feminism. In 2024, the YouTuber also made videos blaming the victims of South Korea's "Nth Room" controversy in which several South Korean schools were found to have Telegram channels operated by male students who shared deepfaked photos of their female classmates. PPKKa is often called a "cyber wrecker" by his critics.
History
PPKKa 뻑가 began posting to YouTube before the year 2019, however, his earliest accessible YouTube[1] video is from March 22nd, 2020, in which he addresses the 2020 "Nth Room" scandal in South Korea and disagrees with the numbers of victims and perpetrators provided by Korean women and lawmakers.
The video gathered over 400,000 views in four years. The video is one of few that shows some of PPKKa's face, which he covers entirely in his later 2024-era uploads.
Controversies
Harassment Campaign Against Streamer Jammi
Korean 4B proponents have held PPKKa responsible for the deaths of South Korean streamer Jammi and her mother after a hate campaign was incited when the YouTuber created a series of videos on Jammi for highlighting sexual harassment she faced from other streamers and for supposedly using a "pinching hand" gesture, which many Korean men consider to be a "hate crime."[2]
In February 2022, Jammi took her own life a few weeks after her mother did the same, citing continued harassment levied against her by Korean men. PPKKa posted a quasi-apology video[7] saying that as he feels "somewhat responsible for Jammi’s death, [he] decided to upload this video and apologize, though too late now."
The YouTuber subsequently deleted this apology from his channel, alongside the videos in which he allegedly directed his followers to harass her, and took a six-month break from posting online. Several comments on his comeback YouTube[3] video acknowledge his role in Jammi's death (seen below).
Nth Room Coverage
PPKKa made several videos covering the new "Nth Room" scandal in South Korea where several South Korean schools were found to have boys operating Telegram channels in which they shared deepfaked photos of their female classmates.[8]
In the video titled, "Middle and High School Students," PPKKa discredited the reported number of South Korean male participants in the Nth Room groups and also singled out the various female South Korean activists and lawmakers who brought the Nth Room scandal to light, accusing them of exaggerating the issue by using foreign connects, sleek graphics and fearmongering.
At the 4:29-minute timestamp, PPKKa highlighted South Korean Twitter[4] / X user "Cat," known for being an outspoken proponent of the 4B movement. Cat made a post on August 26th, 2024, noting that she had been highlighted in PPKKa's video and that she may be doxxed by his followers as a result.
Various X users came to Cat's support, as seen in an August 26th, 2024, post by X[5] user @zoey277 that gathered over 50,000 likes in two days.
Following
As of August 2024, PPKKa has over 1.19 million followers on YouTube,[6] which he joined on May 3rd, 2018.
