About
Sematary, also known as Sematary Grave Man, DJ SORROW or Haunted Mound, is an American rapper and producer who gained a cult following in 2019 on Soundcloud and Tumblr, most notably for his RAINBOW BRIDGE mixtapes and the Grave House mixtape, created with fellow rapper Ghost Mountain. The two of them, alongside others like Buckshot, oscar18, Hackledown and JJ VALHALLA, became known under the name Haunted Mound, promoting it as their record label. Sematary's music can be described as metal, trap, witch-house and deep-fried. He is known in the meme sphere for his grimy, haunted, True Religion aesthetic, as well as his interactions with fans that have gone viral in screenshots and video recordings.
Online History
Sematary was originally most active on Tumblr starting in 2013. His early musical and aesthetic influences come from this Tumblr background. He claims to be inspired by artists like Cheif Keef, Yung Lean, and Black Kray.[2] His Tumblr was deleted some time in early 2019. He and Ghost Mountain posted their first song, Slaughter House, to his new Tumblr in June 2019.[5] The original post (shown below) echoes many of his themes going forward like knives, ghosts and Bang Energy.
On August 16th, 2019, Sematary and Ghost Mountain released their first mixtape Grave House to Soundcloud and Youtube. The two wouldn't collaborate on much going forward however, as Ghost Mountain decided to leave the group to pursue schooling,[1] as well as due to concerns with the growing, alt-right fanbase that began to surface in early 2020. This was following Sematary's release of, RAINBOW BRIDGE, which was posted to Soundcloud on November 7th, 2019. RAINBOW BRIDGE 2, was posted in the new year on March 19th, 2020.
Going forward, Sematary would distance himself from this alt-right side of his fanbase which built itself organically outside of his discretion on 4chan. Sematary considers himself as alt-left, maybe even extremely so. His Twitter was deleted in April of 2020, because of this alt-right, Sam Hyde, Drain Gang fanbase, as he would describe them.[2] This fanbase would go on to clown him on Tumblr and Twitter (shown below).
On July 21st, 2020, Ghost Mountain came back to collaborate with Sematary on HUNDRED ACRE WRIST HOSTED BY DJ SORROW. On April 17th, 2021, Sematary released the 3rd "Rainbow Bridge" mixtape, RAINBOW BRIDGE 3. Sematary received more mainstream attention after this release due to a positive review from Anthony Fantano.

The photo, slightly deep-fried and otherworldly, prompted @thrulls to share it to Twitter with the caption, "Please bro how do u make pizza look not good." The tweet gained some traction and Sematary quote tweeted it complaining about his fans blowing up, "Meme Sh*t," (shown below).
Screenshots and Screen Recordings
Part of Sematary's fanbase at the beginning of 2020 was 4channers, many of them alt-right associated. In May 2020, Sematary made moves to distance himself from these fans, threatening them violently on Twitter and getting deleted because of it.[2]. Many of the 4channer's began to clown him through memes, referencing the Instagram pizza story and writing anonymous hate messages to him on Tumblr (shown below).
In late 2020, following the release of, HUNDRED ACRE WRIST HOSTED BY DJ SORROW, Sematary would tweet on his new Twitter alt-left sentiments to distance himself further from this alt-right part of his fanbase. He threatened violence against transphobes and anti-LGBTQ persons (shown below). This would only further contrast the nuance of his conflicting aesthetics, of edgelord and alt-left, and make him more memeable.
