Perspective Box Redraws refers to a trend in which people draw different characters from 25 different perspectives using the help of a box as a guide. The trend was popularized in early June 2024, after X user @lou_quorice posted a version showing a cat loafing from different angles. The template subsequently became a redraw trend and meme with both sincere and ironic iterations going viral on X / Twitter over the following weeks.

Origin

On June 6th, 2024, X^[1] user @lou_quorice posted an image captioned, "was doing perspective box exercises but then some cat loafed in them," showing 15 differently angled cubes with a cat sitting in each of them. The post gathered over 360,000 likes in a week (seen below).

Spread

On June 7th, 2024, X^[4] user @Suyasuyabi427 posted a version of the meme featuring Kirby, gathering over 85,000 likes in a week (seen below).

Various other X users posted their versions of the perspective box exercise in subsequent days, with X^[2] user @cco00oo posting a Jolteon version of the image on June 9th, gathering over 41,000 likes in two days (seen below).

On June 10th, 2024, X^[3] user @_ratpower posted a version of the meme featuring Yotsuba Koiwai from Azumanga Daioh, gathering over 99,000 likes and over 30,000 likes on a subsequent version of the image.
