PETA "Looks Weird" Tweet refers to a series of comments and jokes criticizing a tweet the animal rights organization PETA. The tweet features an illustration of a cow breastfeeding a grown man, which many found humorous, disturbing or both.
Origin
On March 28th, 2019, the official Twitter[1] account for PETA featured an illustration of a cow breastfeeding a man. The post was captioned "Looks weird right? It's what you're doing if you drink cow's milk ✋ Raise your hand if you know that humans shouldn’t be drinking cow’s breast milk. It was made for their babies--not you!" The post received more than 3,100 retweets and 7,600 likes in 24 hours (shown below).
Spread
People responded to the tweet with jokes. Comedian Chris D'Elia tweeted,[2] "Damn you trying to make us stop drinking milk or fuck cows? Next time don’t make the cows tits so bomb, ya know?" The tweet received more than 5,000 retweets and 40,000 likes in 24 hours (shown below, left).
Twitter[3] user @WGladstone tweeted,[3] "Y'know if you drew a guy that old sucking on a lactating human breast -- that would also look weird, right?" Within 24 hours the tweet received more than 530 retweets and 8,700 likes (shown below, center).
Comedian Rob Delaney tweeted,[4] "If you think I won’t jerk off to this you’re #sorely mistaken." The tweet received more than 1,300 retweets and 18,000 likes in 24 hours (shown below, right).
