Place Lips Here is a sentence associated with a drawing by online artist mitzu in which the viewer is asked to kiss a bunny character on the forehead. This viral art quickly became the subject of many redraws, featuring the artists' comfort characters.

Origin

On December 23rd, 2023, mitzu posted on her Twitter account^[1] the original drawing, representing a chibi rabbit-like creature before and after a kiss on the forehead, which left a lipstick mark (shown below, left). It became very popular, gaining more than 98,400 likes and more than 14,900 retweets within the next month. This immediate success led mitzu to post a follow-up drawing^[2] the next day (shown below, right).

Spread

Many artists on Twitter responded to mitzu's original post with their own take on the drawing, particularly during January of 2024. For example, on January 15th, Furaffinity^[3] user created_by_vivi posted a redraw with their OC (shown below, left). On January 5th, user @mewtides^[4] posted an example that gained over 700 retweets and 5,300 likes in two weeks (shown below, right).
