Propaganda I'm Not Falling For is a catchphrase used in a trend in which participants list examples of things they consider propaganda that they refuse to believe. The trend was popularized on X / Twitter in early May 2025 and spread to TikTok later that month, with some people using it ironically and some using it genuinely. On TikTok, the trend is often set to the song "I think about it all the time" by Charli XCX and Bon Iver.
Origin
The earliest known examples of someone using the phrase "propaganda I’m not falling for" was posted by X[1] user @piinkcity on April 21st, 2025, reading, "propaganda I’m not falling for this week: doechii hate, sza hate, tyla hate," garnering over 13,000 likes in a month.
Spread
The Propaganda I'm Not Falling For trend continued to spread on X in early May 2025. For example, on May 1st, 2025, X[2] user @stayctism posted, "propaganda I'm not falling for: – meovv – matcha latte – brat hate – phaidei," garnering over 2,300 likes in three weeks.
On May 4th, X[3] user @zimzalajim posted, "propaganda I’m not falling for: LABUBU," garnering over 23,000 likes in the same span of time.
By mid-May 2025, the trend spread to TikTok. One of the earliest known examples of the trend on TikTok was posted on May 12th by TikToker[4] @idgafpill and is set to Charli XCX and Bon Iver's song "I think about it all the time," garnering over 942,000 views in two weeks.

On May 16th, TikToker[5] @chloeforero posted a video of herself dancing over a list of propaganda that she won't fall for, garnering over 2.8 million views in roughly two weeks.

On May 20th, 2025, TikToker[6] @_nefi_l posted a video captioned, "propaganda I'm not falling for: saving money," in which she is shown ordering matcha from a coffee shop, garnering over 7.4 million views in a week.

On May 21st, X[7] user @dayasrussell posted a version of the meme sharing several photographs of The Last Of Us actor Bella Ramsey, writing, "propaganda I'm not falling for; bella ramsey being considered ugly," garnering over 11,000 likes in six days.
