It is unclear who started the rizz pick up lines trend. However, TikTokers began increasingly sharing lists of pick up lines in late 2022. For example, TikToker^[1] @a1gbe started posting dirty pick up lines in August 2022, with many of his videos gaining hundreds of thousands of views. Ironic versions of the trend became increasingly popular in March 2023, where cheesy and inappropriate pick up lines would be shared under the context of having rizz. For example, on March 4th, 2023, TikToker^[2] @quokkas4u posted a version of the trend that gained over 1.4 million views in a month (shown below).

The trend became increasingly popular over the course of April 2023, specifically under the original and sped-up versions of "White Tee" by Summer Walker. For example, on April 13th, 2023, TikToker^[3] @adorelytips posted a version of the trend that gained over 1.2 million views in two weeks (shown below, left). On April 14th, TikToker^[4] @emzsqx posted a version that gained over 3.6 million views in the same span of time (shown below, right).

On April 21st, TikToker^[5] @rex.zxz posted a video following the trend that gained over 2 million views in a week (shown below).
