The Rubi Rose Leaked Video Rumor refers to the rumored leak of an explicit video showing American rapper and songwriter Rubi Rose receiving "backshots" and having sex. The video purportedly spread on Twitter / X and Reddit in late February 2024. Outrage was akin to many of the reactions from users who likened the tweets to engagement bait alongside discourse about the Bobbi Althoff leaked video, which was an AI-generated deepfake. Memes using the caption "Sending the Bobbi Althoff and Rubi Rose leaks to everyone who interacts with this post" parodied the slew of tweets that spread the rumors.

Origin

On February 20th, 2024, X^[1] user @clippedszn shared a post that seemingly started the rumor of a leaked video of rapper Rubi Rose. The post attached a video of Travis Scott looking confused in a club, captioned, "Rubi Rose LEAK was better than I expected.. (dont check hidden) 💀," referring to the post's hidden replies. Over one day, the post received roughly 5.9 million views and 13,000 likes (shown below).

The video referred to as the "Rubi Rose LEAK" in the hidden replies of the post shows a woman receiving backshots. The video does not show the woman's face. Therefore, the claim that it's Rubi Rose is currently unfounded.

Spread

Later on February 20th, 2024, X^[2] user @ykkswb shared a similar post that spread the rumor. Over one day, the tweet received roughly 16.2 million views and 72,000 likes (shown below, left).

The user continued with posts about Rubi Rose's rumored leak, like one tweet^[3] shared on February 20th, in which he alleged that Lil Baby followed him for the purported video of Rose, gaining over 5,200 likes in 12 hours (shown below, right).

Later on February 20th, 2024, users started to post tweets that spread both rumors of the Rubi Rose video and the Bobbi Althoff video, like X^[4] user @cfc_farouq, who used The Lorax 1,000 Yard Stare image, gaining over 1,100 likes in less than a day (shown below).

Users on X started to satirize the bait format, like X^[5] user @DaConstrict on February 20th, who captioned a reversed version of the Michael Jackson Lowering a Gun video, "This is what you need to do if you are posting fake Rubi Rose and Bobbi Althoff AI 'leaks,'" gaining over 697,600 views and 980 likes in less than a day (shown below).
