The Screaming Laughing Cat, or as it's more commonly referred to the Laughing cat, is a meme reaction video of an orange cat shaking as it laughs. It is similar to other laughing cats such as Cat Pointing And Laughing and is often used in videos as a funny reaction clip.

On December 20th, 2020, the original video of the cat was uploaded on TikTok by the user catsajack^[1] with the hashtags "#fetchmetheirsouls #fyp #cats #catsoftiktok". This video used the "fetch me their souls" audio from the videogame Black Ops 1 alongside video of a cat shaking with it's ears back and mouth open, presumably from being moved by the owner.

Later on March 31st 2024, a popular meme review youtuber named MentallyMitch^[2] uploaded the video "Meme review w/ Friends | Vol. 9" in which he reacts to a number of memes. At the 11:43 timestamp, he gets to a meme that says "some of yall roses when yall 🐱's stank" accompanied by an image of a rose sex toy^[3] with a distasteful face edited on, and lets out the iconic laugh that would later get paired with the aforementioned cat.
