I'm Using My Rose Toy, also known as I'm Yewsing My Rose Toy, refers to a female text-to-speech voice that repeats "I'm using my rose toy" while the sound of a rose toy vibrating interrupts. A rose toy is a female vibrator and sex toy. The sound trended in memes on TikTok in 2023, spawning from a TikTok LIVE featuring a fake Tophiachu who was trolling another woman on LIVE. The meme later became associated with a scene from Sing 2 in which the cat character Nooshy is dancing. Overall, videos that used the audio most often showed characters, people and animals who were seemingly orgasming via the rose toy.

Origin

Tophia, also known as Tophiachu, is a TikTok Lolcow associated with the FlopTok community. As stated in the video "Tophiachu Iceberg" uploaded by YouTuber^[1] cxndiez on August 4th, 2023 (shown below), fans of Tophia would use a screenshot of her in their own TikTok LIVEs, pretending to be Tophia in order to trick others in "battle" LIVEs, playing a text-to-speech voice reciting, "I'm using my rose toy."

The fake Tophiachu LIVE, which became the most commonly used audio in the later meme trend, occurred sometime in early July 2023. The first known repost of the LIVE was uploaded by YouTuber^[4] cler4843 on July 3rd, 2023, showing only the cropped screen of the other TikToker reacting to the sound, gaining roughly 5,500 views in three months (shown below).

Spread

Starting in late August 2023, viral usage of the aforementioned "I'm using my rose toy" sound^[4] predominantly spread on TikTok. Meme creators most often paired the audio with videos of people or animals who were imagined to be using the rose toy because of their o-face expressions or orgasm-like movements.

For instance, an early example was uploaded by TikToker^[5] @milkymizus on August 20th, 2023, showing a cat sitting on a vibrating fish toy, gaining roughly 1.1 million plays and 189,800 likes in two months (shown below, left). On September 2nd, 2023, TikToker^[6] @morjensjagheterpasi posted a similar video with a woman, gaining roughly 271,900 plays and 34,400 likes in one month (shown below, right).

Rose Toy Cat / Nooshy From Sing 2

Starting in September 2023, meme creators on TikTok started to pair the "I'm using my rose toy" audio with a video of Nooshy from the animated film Sing 2 dancing. For instance, on September 24th, 2023, TikToker^[7] @beanello2.0 posted a video of Nooshy with the sound, gaining roughly 544,700 plays and 81,700 likes in nine days (shown below).
