Second Scotland refers to a satirical reaction theory given to the idea of there being a second Scotland which originally came from the fact that wind energy power in Scotland could power another country like Scotland.

Origin

On July 19th, 2019, the British news outlet The Independent and website Science Alert published a story on Scotland's use of wind energy and how it could in effect power 'two Scotlands'. (see below)

Theories which were spread around originated from the headlines in the articles by The Independent and Science Alert.

After the article was published, many people started sharing it on social media. One user created a macro image of William Wallace stopping to think with the words 'two Scotlands' (see below)
