She Asked Me For a Nude, I, A Fool, Sent a Pic Of My Soul refers to a viral poem and catchphrase about a person who sends a girl a poem instead of a nude photograph and gets blocked, concluding, "Then I realized she wanted a nude of my body; I, a fool, sent one of my soul." The poem first started to spread online among Portuguese users in 2016 and spread over the following years, inspiring memes using the phrasal template "She asked me for a nude, I sent a pic of X," with X being a funny or inappropriate image.
Origin
It is unclear who first wrote the poem. The earliest known online post of the "she asked me for a nude" poem is by X,[1] formerly Twitter, user @itscoelho_ on July 15th, 2016, writing, "Ela me pediu um nude. Eu mandei um poema, e ela me deu block. Acho que ela queria nude do corpo. Eu, tolo, mandei da alma..," garnering no interactions in seven years. The poem spread over the following days and was notably posted by X[2] user @aleffeando on July 18th, garnering over 780 likes in the same span of time. On the same day, Facebook[3] user Aleffeando posted a screenshot of his post, garnering over 15,000 shares and 20,000 interactions in seven years (shown below).

Spread
The poem continued to spread on Portuguese social media over the following years. On July 25th, 2016, Facebook[4] user Um Papel (A Paper) posted an image of the poem written in a notebook, garnering over 16,000 shares and 21,000 reactions in seven years (shown below). On April 22nd, 2019, the image was posted to /r/im14andthisisdeep,[5] garnering around 150 upvotes in four years.
On October 18th, a Redditor posted a meme to /r/me_irl[6] using an English translation of the poem over an image of Batman holding a pregnant Shrek, altering the poem to claim the writer sent the photo to the woman who asked for a nude, garnering over 8,200 upvotes in four years (shown below).
On October 28th, 2021, Instagram[7] user teflon_musk_after_dusk posted a similar meme using an image of Joker with a pregnant Crazy Frog, garnering over 1,000 likes in two years. It was reposted numerous times, including by the Things that are not aesthetic Facebook[8] page on October 31st, garnering over 4,000 shares and 10,000 reactions in two years and by Instagram[9] page inhalemybees on December 21st, garnering over 48,300 likes in two years.
On September 12th, 2023, the meme was reposted by X[10] user @ShitpostGate, garnering over 22,000 likes in a day.
