Shuffles Deck, Pulls Card is an image macro series which typically frames social media posts and news articles as discriminatory towards whites by captioning them with variations of the phrasal template "Fucking white people and their shuffles deck, pulls card X."

Origin

On May 12th, 2018, Redditor KABAR_in_the_gay_bar posted a screenshot of a tweet shaming a white student for drinking out of a jug of water, along with the titled "Fuckin white people and their shuffles deck, pull card 'Hydration'" (shown below). Within two months, the post garnered upwards of 1,200 points (95% upvoted) and 99 comments.

Spread

On June 20th, 2018, Twitter user @RoamingMil^[3] retweeted a tweet about white people smiling along with a "shuffles deck" joke. That day, a screenshot of the tweet reached the front page of /r/CringeAnarchy^[4] (shown below).

On June 22nd, Redditor Amazing_NickName posted a screenshot of a Vox article titled "Black Americans don't sleep as well as white Americans. That's a problem" to /r/JordanPeterson,^[2] where it gathered upwards of 1,500 points (86% upvoted) and 390 comments within one month.

On July 7th, Redditor Kagstheking posted screenshots of several tweets about white people at the 2018 FIFA World Cup with the title "Fucking white people and their shuffles deck football skills!" to /r/CringeAnarchy,^[1] where it gathered upwards of 3,300 points (97% upvoted) and 290 comments within 10 days (shown below). On July 17th, Redditor Disep submitted a post to /r/OutOfTheLoop^[6] asking "What is this white people and shuffles deck meme?"
