There was a sadness I felt standing behind this woman in line at McDonald's last week I watched as she took her small drink and cheeseburger to a nearby booth and sat down Alone I was in a hurry as I had a client meeting but I did something I've never done before I asked her if she'd like some company She replied "Why yes I'd love that" We spoke for 45 minutes about everything - Her husband who she lost last year - Her kids who hardly visit - Her company which had been struggling recently The tears in her eyes reflected the deep loneliness she felt She reminded me of my Grandma... "I think I can help you...." Reality is the hiring manager prioritized giving someone new to the industry a chance. They also offered market value for pay and did not try to low ball the person because they had no experience. Not every decision by a hiring manager purely about gender, skill, or money. Sometimes it is about giving opportunity.

I know, I know- I should do a better job signing out. I know, I know- I should make sure I prioritize my own mental health. And I know, I know that spending time on my laptop instead of enjoying the moments is no way to go through life... But... In Social is my baby and I can't even fathom not thinking about my company for one minute. How do other founders and business owners do it?? I'm lucky enough to have an amazing team full of experts who are keeping the agency running (and thriving!) and I couldn't be taking (or trying to take) vacation without them. I appreciate each and every one of them. Even when they yell at me to get off Slack Anyway, I'll try *not* to be working for the next 10 days, so see y'all when I'm back! (And seriously, tips on letting go? Help!)
