Woken News Network (or most commonly referred as Woken News) is a satirical news website known for it's meme-related articles. According to a report done by Media Bias/Fact Check, Woken News "exclusively use humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people’s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues."

History

Founded in late 2018 by the Facebook Woken Memes administrator team, it gained over 100,000 visits weekly and been featured in prominent online publication sources in just it's first months (mainly due to a viral petition created by Woken News co-founder Danny Micheal Vaillancourt).

Change.org Petition

On January 27th, Woken News created a petition Make Shaggy A DLC In Mortal Kombat 11 on Change.org. The petition gained global virality and over 300,000 signatures in a week prompting a response from Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon and actor Matthew Lillard. It currently ranks #3 for 2019 (Worldwide) as the most rising Mortal Kombat 11-related search term enquiry according to Google Trends.
