Slittens, a portmanteau of the words "sloth" and "kittens", is a single topic blog featuring photographs of kittens with their faces digitally swapped with sloths.

The Slittens Tumblr[1] blog was launched on July 6th, 2014 with several photoshopped images of sloth-kitten hybrids (shown below).

The same day, Redditor DeaconDeath submitted a gallery of slitten photos to the /r/funny[2] subreddit, where it gained over 1,300 votes (81% upvoted) in the first three months. During the first week of October, several news sites highlighted notable examples from the Tumblr blog, including Laughing Squid,[3] The Huffington Post,[4] BuzzFeed[5] and BoingBoing.[6] On October 5th, a Facebook[7] page titled "Slittens" was launched.
