About

Soulja Boy's "Superman" TikTok Trend refers to a viral TikTok dance inspired by Soulja Boy's memorable 2007 hit "Crank That." The track resurfaced on TikTok in late November 2024, as users incorporated Superman's flying gesture into various dance challenges alongside friends and family.

Origin

On November 22nd, 2009, Soulja Boy released "Crank That" on YouTube[1], which gained more than 596 million views and 4.8 million likes in 15 years.

The earliest viral post about the "Superman" TikTok Trend was posted on TikTok[2] by user @julllanrullan on November 22nd, 2024. In the video, she and two other friends are doing the classic "Crank That" dance move, adding a part in which one person does the Superman flying gesture while the other two have to catch her so she doesn't fall to the ground. The video (seen below) amassed over 31 million plays and 4.5 million likes in two weeks.
