Starbucks Order Parodies refers to a series of tweets spoofing an extraordinarily long Starbucks order that may have been inspired by a TikTok trend encouraging customers to get elaborate orders from the coffee chain. After a particularly elaborate order went viral on Twitter, people parodied the order by replacing its contents with various copypastas.

Origin

On May 1st, 2021, Twitter user @ProjectJosiee[1] posted an order of Starbucks coffee they made that featured an extraordinary amount of specifications. The tweet gained over 52,000 retweets and 335,000 likes (shown below).

As the tweet spread around Twitter, the word "Edward" trended as people commented on the customer's order. Soon, users began posting parodies of the order using famous copypastas. For example, on May 3rd, 2021, user @weirdwithwords[2] posted an example featuring requests to a sex worker, gaining over 5,000 retweets and 57,000 likes (shown below, left). The same day, user @elliottgray[3] posted an example featuring the Whether We Wanted It Or Not copypasta, gaining over 460 retweets and 4,300 likes (shown below, right).
