90 Day Fiancé is an American reality television series. The show documents several couples undergoing the process concerning K-1 visas, which allows couples 90 days to decide whether or not to marry and thus claim citizenship for the foreign fiancé.

History

On January 12th, 2014, the series premiered in the United States.

The following month, TLC published one of the earliest videos from the show on the YouTube. The post received more than 413,000 views in less than seven years (shown below).


Over the next six years, the show inspired several spin-off series, including 90 Day Fiancé: What Now?, 90 Day Fiancé: Pillow Talk, 90 Day Finacé: Happily Ever After and more.[1]

Fandom

On September 26th 2014, the verified Facebook [2] account launched. The page has more than 1.3 million people followers and 900,000 likes.

On November 11th, 2014, Redditor [4] JawolopingChris2 launched the /r/90DayFiance subreddit. Within six years, the group has more than 150,000 readers. The show also inspired several other subreddits based on the show, including /r/90DayFianceSnark[5] and /r/90dayfianceuncensored.[6] The latter garnered more than 60,000 readers in less than three years.

In June 2019, the verified 90 Day Fiancé Twitter [3] account launched. Within one year, the account amassed more than 20,000 followers.

You're Road refers to a clip from 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days in which a woman named Jenny admonishes her fiancé, Larry, for not eating the meal her family prepared for him in The Philippines. She tells him "You're rude," but with her accent, it sounds like she's saying "You're road." People remixed the clip in various ways several months after the episode aired.

Big Ed is the nickname for 90 Day Finacé: Before the 90 Days castmember Ed Brown, who appeared in the fourth season of the reality television series. Following his introduction, Big Ed inspired a number of memes based on his appearance and relationship with romantic partner Rose.
