You're Road refers to a clip from 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days in which a woman named Jenny admonishes her fiancé, Larry, for not eating the meal her family prepared for him in The Philippines. She tells him "You're rude," but with her accent, it sounds like she's saying "You're road." People remixed the clip in various ways several months after the episode aired.

Origin

In 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, couples meet each other prior to entering a 90-day K-1 Visa program which is uniquely available to foreign fiancés of American citizens. The episode which spawned the meme aired on October 8th, 2017.[1] In the clip, a Filipino woman named Jenny admonishes her fiancé for being rude to her parents by not eating the welcome dinner they had prepared for him (shown below). She says "You're rude" to her fiancé, who cannot understand her accent.



Spread

On April 4th, 2018, YouTube user uploaded an edited video of the clip which features Jenny repeating the line "You're rude." The video is titled "You're road" and gained over 107,000 views (shown below).

Following the upload of that clip, many other YouTubers began creating their own remixes of the scene based off mishearing "You're rude" as "You're road." For example, YouTube user Pinoy Collections remixed the clip with "Rude Boy" by Rihanna, gaining over 6,000 views (shown below, left). YouTube user weirdeadbrain vids uploaded an edit that gained over 5,600 views (shown below, right). The spread of the meme was covered by Daily Star.[2]
