Goblin Cave is an animated Yaoi hentai web series created by artist Sana. The series is infamous online for its explicit content and has inspired Don't Google memes from people who have stumbled upon it while Googling "Goblin Cave" for innocent reasons. It has also inspired a series of humorous edits that recut the series to be SFW, making it appear to be a SFW anime fantasy series.

Origin

The Goblin Cave web series was created by Sana and is hosted on their Patreon and Fanbox. Though it is unknown when the series started exactly, a discussion of the series appeared on Reddit's /r/yaoi^[1] on October 25th, 2020. It is believed the series was inspired by the sexual assault that takes place in the first episode of Goblin Slayer. The opening of the series shows a male character getting sexually assaulted by goblins.

The anime web series inspired a series of memes in the 2020s, usually SFW re-edits of Goblin Cave or "Don't Google" memes referencing it. For example, on February 24th, 2021, YouTuber Vergiii^[3] made an edit of the former type, making a "cinematic and suspenseful" recut of Goblin Cave, gaining over 1.1 million views in three years.

On May 8th, 2022, TikToker @beannestella69^[4] made a SFW recut of Goblin Cave scenes, gaining over 158,000 likes in two and a half years.

On October 16th, 2023, Redditor Hanuxis posted a "Don't Google" meme about Goblin Cave in the subreddit /r/dndmemes,^[5] gaining over 150 points in one year.

On October 16th, 2024, TikToker @stanzipotenza^[2] posted a sketch about an FBI agent tracking her search history and getting grossed out when she searches "Goblin Cave." The TikTok gained over 232,000 likes in one day.
