About
Library of Ruina is a deck-building, visual novel RPG developed by Project Moon. It is a sequel to Lobotomy Corporation. It follows Roland, a low-end mercenary who is sent to the titular library, where he meets the owner, Angela, who decides to make him a guardian of the Library. The game was released in early access in March of 2020 and developed a significant following prior to its official release in August of 2021.
History
On January 19th, 2019, Project Moon released the Library of Ruina reveal trailer (shown below, left). A second trailer was released on January 23rd, 2020 (shown below, right).
The game was released in early access on Steam on May 15th, 2020 before getting officially released on August 10th, 2021.[1]
Reception
The game received wide praise upon release. As of September 13th, 2021, the game has a rating of "Very Positive" on Steam[2] based on 8,800 user reviews. Critics were also favorable towards the game. Game Informer[3] dubbed it "the best game you might sleep on this year," writing, "Library of Ruina features enthralling enemies, enchanting music, progressively more complicated mechanics and options, and a really dark, weird tale that ebbs into everything else about it. This journey into the bizarre is refreshing, revitalizing, and reinvigorating."

In addition to the game's sizable Steam fanbase on Steam, the game also has a dedicated Wiki page[4] and a subreddit[5] that's been active since January 20th, 2019 with over 4,300 subscribers.
