About

No More Heroes is a series of action-adventure games developed by Grasshopper Interactive. Following the adventures of otaku-turned-assassin Travis Touchdown, the series was started in 2007 and was released for the Wii, to critical success, spawning a sequel, a spin-off for the Nintendo Switch in 2019, and an upcoming third sequel to be released in 2021.

History

No More Heroes was developed by Grasshopper Interactive and created by Goichi Suda, also known by his nickname Suda51. The first game in the series was released for the Wii on December 6th, 2007 in Japan, followed by a more widespread release in 2008 and published by Marvelous Entertainment in Japan and Ubisoft in North America. An enhanced port of the game was later released for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010, subtitled as Heroes' Paradise, the former version containing compatibility with Playstation Move peripherals.

The game would receive a sequel, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, in 2010, also for the Wii. In 2019, 9 years after the release of the last installment, a spinoff, Travis Strikes Back: No More Heroes, was released on January 18th initially for the Nintendo Switch, before being ported to PC and Playstation 4.
