The game was initially released under the name Calabiyau in August 2023 in China for mobile and PC. A beta version of the game was released worldwide in June 2024, which sparked comparisons with Valorant and Overwatch games.

On August 3rd, 2023, a beta version of Strinova was released under the name Calabiyau in China[1] for mobile and PC. The game is developed by iDreamSky Studio. A combat trailer was posted on YouTube[2] by @AsiaGames_YouTube_Ita, which shows the feature switch to freely between three-dimensional and two-dimensional forms to avoid enemies' bullets. The trailer (seen below) amassed roughly 2,300 views and 41 likes in a year.

Online Reactions

The game's global beta release in June 2024, sparked a debate on the internet about its 2D to 3D switch feature. For example, on June 25th, 2024, X[3] user @kohakudoori posted a Strinova gameplay, captioning "this is the greatest shooter game I have ever played." The post (seen below) received over 2.7 million views and 47,000 likes in a day.

On June 9th, 2024, YouTuber[4] @Kariyu101 posted a video about his experience playing Strinova for 100 days (seen below, left), which received over 317,000 views and 15,000 likes in two weeks. On June 23rd, 2024, YouTuber[5] @Xlice posted a video (seen below, right), recommending the gacha game, calling it "The ULTIMATE Anime Shooter Game You Need To Try." The video amassed more than 19,000 views and 661 likes in three days.
