About
Blue Archive is a free-to-play real-time strategy role-playing gacha game developed by South Korean developer MX Studio under the management umbrella of Nexon Games.
History
It was released in 2021 for Android and iOS, first in Japan on February 4, 2021, and worldwide later on November 8, 2021.[1] An anime television series adaptation was released in April 2024.[2]
Reception
In Currykaesu – Fair Curry Gamers, praising to said that 'It more than just a gacha game.' [3] Blue Archive has fostered a vibrant community, with a notable presence at events like Comiket. The game's participation grew from 446 circles in Winter 2022 to 894 in Summer 2023, indicating a strong and active fan base.[4] The game received the Best Storytelling award from Sensor Tower in 2023, surpassing titles like Fate/Grand Order and Honkai: Star Rail.[5]

It also had an impact on a few subcultures, like gaming, anime, and gacha communities. As well as aspects of fan culture like fan art and cosplay.
