"Big Boy" is a comedy pop song by SZA created for an episode of Saturday Night Live that aired on December 3rd, 2022. The song is about wanting to find a "big boy" to hook up with during the winter season. After it premiered on SNL, the song was posted to TikTok, where it went viral as an original sound used in lip dub, dance and meme videos, mostly referencing something or someone that is large.
Origin
The December 4th, 2022 episode of Saturday Night Live features an original song and music video performed by SZA and members of the SNL crew, including Punkie Johnson, called "Big Boy." The song's lyrics are about wanting to find a big boy to hook up with during the winter. The music video was posted to Twitter[1] by @nbcsnl that night, garnering over 9,100 likes and 246,000 views in a month (shown below). On the same day, TikToker[2] @bttybwoy posted a clip from the video, garnering over 20 million views in a month.

The original sound for TikToker @bttybwoy's video gained virality over the following month, inspiring over 1.3 million uses in that time. The most popular videos under the sound by January 4th, 2022, are a December 18th upload by TikToker[3] @ellie__davis where she lip dubs the song and hugs her tall boyfriend, garnering over 33 million views and a December 25th upload by TikToker[4] @bruhpuppy of a large dog named Arlo who is bigger than the family's table, garnering over 44 million views (shown below, left and right). On December 20th, SZA discussed the song's success in an article published by EW.[5]
