The Souls Of The Innocents and A Bagel are lines from a viral Vine video, in which an inner demon unsuccessfully tries to tempt a man. This video from 2015 inspired many fanarts and animations, typically featuring a pure and innocent character and another character trying to corrupt them.

Origin

On June 5th, 2015, Vine user Matt Post posted a video^[1] (re-upload seen below) titled "When your bro who is always high gets possessed, but the demon isn't powerful enough to phase him.", with Matt playing as himself and his friend, and voicing the demon. By the time Vine shut down, this video had been liked over 55,300 times, and reshared over 19,100 times.

Matt: – Hey bro, what do you want to eat?
Demon: – The souls of the innocent.
Friend: – A bagel.
Demon: – Nooooo!
Friend: – Two bagels.
