About

Tiara also known as Jika Kau Bertemu Aku Begini is a song by Malaysian band named KRIS that gained popularity in 2022. The line translate to "If You Met Me Like This." The song came to be associated with the Sitting Wolf meme, often used in photo slideshow style memes on TikTok.

Origin

The song "Tiara" was released in 1991, created by M. Nasir and sung by KRIS. On March 3rd, 2017, Life Records Malaysia's official YouTube[1] channel uploaded a version of the song, gathering over 6.6 million views in six years (shown below, left). On May 6th, 2022, YouTube[2] user RAFFA BADRI29 uploaded a cover of the song gathering more than 72 million views in one year (shown below, right).



On October 21st, 2022, Facebook[3] user Asahi Serijawir uploaded the earliest known meme linking "Tiara" and the Sitting Wolf meme, gathering over 4,000 reactions in a year (seen below).



Spread

Raffa's cover of the song "Tiara" grew to become increasingly associated with the Sitting Wolf meme in late 2022, as seen in an October 28th, 2022 post by Facebook[4] user Raditya Faiz Ramadhan to the group "OrangPosting." The post showed a man being thrown into a pile of sand, gathering over 3,700 reactions in a year (seen below, left).

On November 5th, 2022, Facebook[5] user Fiz posted a Whatsapp screenshot showing a conversation where someone asks what the English word for an ink pen is, and trolls the respondent with an image of the Sitting Wolf and the song Tiara. The video received more than 5,100 reactions and 4,700 shares (shown below, right).

Roger Sumatra

On November 7th, 2022, Facebook[6] page Dokutah Lounge uploaded an edit of Arknights gameplay by using the Sitting Wolf meme and a caption that read "Roger Sumatra". The post received more than 2,500 reactions and 800 shares (shown below).


Sitting Wolf has it's nicknames in Indonesia called "Roger Sumatra".

The Sitting Wolf has since been nicknamed "Roger Sumatra" in Indonesia, and has come to be associated with the Tiara song.
