Tomato Town Massacre refers to a series of memes referencing a lyric from the Fortnite-themed 2018 parody song "Chug Jug With You" in which its author Leviathan sings about scoring 10 kills in Tomato Town. Following the viral popularity of the song in February 2021, memes describing the events that occurred in Tomato Town as horrific and tragic gained popularity online.

Origin

In February 2021, the Fortnite-themed parody song "Chug Jug With You" by Leviathan went viral on social media. In the opening verse of the song, Leviathan sings about "wiping out Tomato Town" via "10 kills on the board," with Tomato Town being a location (point of interest) on the in-game map. The lyric means that Leviathan and his friend killed 10 other players in the location.

On March 10th, 2021, Twitter[1] user @PanicHippy posted the lyric combined with a photograph of Death Grips singer MC Ride, with the image gaining over 7,800 retweets and 54,000 likes in four days (shown below).

On March 11th, Twitter[2] user @dodgonkulator posted an I Killed Them All meme referencing "Chug Jug With You" that received over 10,900 retweets and 102,400 likes in three days (shown below, left). Also on the same day, Twitter[3] user @unabombination posted a thread "What's going on in Tomato Town: a thread," parodying Twitter threads about mass shootings and other violent incidents. The first tweet in the thread gained over 1,100 retweets and 5,500 likes in three days (shown below, right).
