About
Trump 6'3", 215 pounds refers to Donald Trump's self-reported height and weight for his arrest in his Georgia Indictment, the case which also resulted in his mugshot. Many online suspected Trump was lying about these numbers, noting that he had reported a different height and weight just months earlier in his Hush Money indictment in New York City. Online, users joked about the given statistics, often by comparing Trump to athletes who are close to 6'3" and 215 pounds.
Origin
On August 24th, 2023, Trump arrived at the Fulton County jail to surrender for his Georgia arrest, in which he and 18 co-conspirators are charged with violating the state's RICO statute in their efforts to overturn the 2020 United States Presidential Election results in the state. As part of his arrest booking, which also resulted in his mugshot, Trump was required to submit his height and weight. His aides[1] reported that he was 6'3" tall and 215 pounds, and that he had "blond or strawberry" hair color.
Spread
On August 24th, 2023, after the news of Trump's self-reported height and weight was announced, many online and in the media voiced skepticism that the numbers were accurate. @MeidasTouch[2] pointed out that just months prior, Trump listed his height and weight as 6'2", 246 pounds in his New York Hush Money indictment, joking that he must have had a growth spurt and gone on a diet since then, gaining over 870 retweets and 2,600 likes in one day (shown below, left). User @Tyler02020202[3] posted a photo of a dog captioned "He thinks we can't see him" to joke about the measurements, gaining over 120 retweets and 3,000 likes in one day (shown below, right).
One popular way to joke about Trump's height and weight report was to compare the numbers to professional athletes who share similar heights and weights. On August 25th, user @NFL_DovKleiman[4] posted an MSNBC graphic comparing Trump to athletes Lamar Jackson, Tom Brady, Muhammad Ali and Bryce Harper, all of whom are around 6'3", 215 lbs, and joked "6'3, 215 pounds isn't what it used to be," gaining over 520 retweets and 5,500 likes in hours (shown below, left). The same day, user @CallToActivism[5] posted a thread of athletes with similar heights and weights, starting with New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, gaining over 300 retweets and 3,000 likes in less than thirty minutes (shown below, right).
