About
TV Head is a person in Virginia who placed old televisions on the front porches of over 50 people's houses in the middle of the night on August 11th, 2019. The culprit was caught on security cameras wearing a TV over their head. Over the next month, the prank or performance art led internet users to create fan art and conspiracies dedicated to the phenomena.
Origin
On August 11th, a person with a TV over their head placed old TVs on the front porches of over 50 house in Henrico County, Virginia according to Philadelphia Actions News.[3] The news report also feature security camera footage of TV Head (shown below). The next day, Redditor UnionizePokeMarts posted the report to r/nottheonion[2] and gained over 21,600 points (96% upvoted) in three days.

On August 14th, 2019, The Washington Post[1] provided Nest surveillance footage provided by resident James Simon (shown below) and gathered testimonies from other residents. The article quotes a lieutenant with the local police department saying, "We determined there was no credible threat to residents and that this was strictly an inconvenience. It was unique."
On August 14th, The Washington Post[4] tweeted their article and gained over 131,200 likes and 50,200 retweets (shown below, left). Many Twitter users began immediately commenting on the post with fan art, theories and general thoughts on the matter. Twitter user @Radical_R[5] commented, "Why not? We are already in the end times. Might as well be weird about it" which accumulated over 7,100 likes and 400 retweets in two days (shown below, right).
That same day, many Twitter users like @Sjshayann[6] compared TV Head to Prince Robot from Saga (shown below, left). Twitter user @cool_buttons[7] theorized that "It's the owner of a motel, he's replacing the tv's in the rooms and doesn't want to pay to recycle 50 old ones since they likely still work" which garnered over 5,900 likes in two days. On August 15th, Redditor dvizdos posted fan art of TV head to r/rva[8] and gained over 450 points (98% upvoted) in a day (shown below, right).
