On October 23rd, 2021, TikToker^[1] @jdp.adobo posted a video related to the types of males that Asian females find interest in dating, with the first example being the "Soft white guy " and successive examples being nicknamed "The convict", "The f-boi" and "The Simptron." The video (shown below) received roughly over 1.3 million plays and 174,400 likes in 6 weeks.

In the following days, the audio of the video was cut to the description of the "Soft white guy" and used in over 460 videos in course of 44 days.^[2] On October 27th, 2021, TikToker^[3] @real.nancy.botwin posted a video with the caption "painfully accurate", while showing her white boyfriend as the sound played. The video received over 1.4 million plays and 193,000 likes in 5 weeks (shown below, left). The following day, a similar video was posted by TikToker^[4] @bunninja with the caption "guilty". The video received roughly over 3.5 million plays and 347,000 likes in five weeks. (shown below, right).
