Ugandan Chungus is an amalgamation of the meme characters Ugandan Knuckles and Big Chungus, featuring the body of Big Chungus combined with the colors and face of Ugandan Knuckles.

Origin

On December 21st, 2018, a Virgin vs. Chad meme comparing Ugandan Knuckles to Big Chungus was submitted to the /r/BigChungus^[4] subreddit (shown below). In the comments section, Redditor Romboteryx wrote "Now image this: Ugandan Chungus."

On December 23rd, Redditor RubyChan_42 submitted a photoshop of Big Chungus with Ugandan Knuckles colors, along with the caption "Ugandan Chungus" to /r/dankmemes^[5] (shown below).

Spread

On December 31st, Redditor CabbageLord10 submitted a picture of the two characters combined, along with the caption "Ladies and gentlemen I bring you Ugandan Chungus" (shown below). Within four days, the post gained over 44,300 points (84% upvoted) and 580 comments on /r/memes/.^[2]

On January 1st, 2019, YouTuber morton uploaded an edit of the Big Chungus Looney Tunes cartoon edited with Ugandan Knuckles (shown below, left). That day, YouTuber Hyena626 uploaded footage of Ugandan Chungus avatars in VRChat (shown below, right).

Also on January 1st, Redditor TitanBrass submitted a picture of Ugandan Chungus titled "Thanks, I absolutely fucking despise the mere existence of Ugandan Chungus" to the /r/TIHI^[3] subreddit. On January 3rd, Lushsux posted a photograph of a mural on Instagram^[1], featuring Ugandan Chungus standing in front of a background of flames along with the description "My vision of hell in 2019" (shown below). In less than 24 hours, the post received more than 13,400 likes.
