Uninstallafell, also known as the given nickname Gremlo, refers to a GIF of a dancing Lalafell from the MMORPG game Final Fantasy XIV. It has been mostly used to troll World of Warcraft players into becoming "WoWfugees" by uninstalling WoW and moving to Final Fantasy XIV among the exodus from the game in July 2021.

Origin

On July 2nd, 2021, Twitch streamer Rich Campbell encountered a Lalafell player dancing on a campfire during a FFXIV stream. Lalafell characters are the closest thing to World of Warcraft's gnome race and are often seen as gremlin characters. Campbell then interacted with the player and dubbed the character's nickname "Gremlo."^[1] During this, Campbell's Battle.net menu suddenly began popping up with advertisements, interrupting his stream. This eventually led to Campbell uninstalling Battle.net along with World of Warcraft from his PC. The followers in chat reacted energetically, calling it an epic win and started spamming keks.. This moment was clipped by PawnRocket^[4] and has over 18,000 views in three weeks (shown below).

Reddit user PawnRocket,^[2] who is the original Uninstallafell player Chibi Pawnie^[5] in Final Fantasy XIV, described the glamour that is equipped to their character to resemble a hip-hop^[3] character in yellow, hence doing the sidestep dance.

Spread

In the following weeks, Uninstallafells spread on the internet and into other player's livestreams. 4chan's /v/ uses the Uninstallafell with numerous Final Fantasy XIV memes to try and troll World of Warcraft players on both World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV threads. The main message of the trolling is that FFXIV is much better and will make you want to uninstall WoW. Uninstallafells have also shown up on Asmongold's _FFXIV+ livestream during the Bahamut raid series since Asmongold is a WoW streamer.
