About

Unreeeal Superhero 3, also known as Unreal Superhero 3, is a chiptune song by Kenet & Rez. The song has been used as music in various keygens, and eventually became a popular music source for remixes, YouTube Poops, and YTPMVs.

Origin

The chiptune first appeared on Chipmusicdisk #1 by Rebels, which was released on September 3rd, 2001, on the demoscene music site pouet.net.[1] The chiptune was later uploaded in XM format to The Mod Archive on April 6th, 2005.[2] The tune gained popularity when it was used as the music for keygen programs from Digital Insanity, namely for the keygen to Sony Vegas Pro 8 and 9. The chiptune (shown below) was first uploaded to YouTube on May 10th, 2008, where it received over 1.1 million views in over fifteen years.[3]



Spread

On April 3rd, 2009, YouTube user Moto200Alt posted a YouTube Poop in which King Harkinian downloads Sony Vegas 8.0 along with its keygen, to which he experiences the tune upon opening the keygen and flashes colors along with Link.[4] The video (shown below) received over 790,000 views in over fourteen years. On August 1st, 2010, YouTube user jacknjellify posted the eighth episode of Battle for Dream Island.[5] At the end of the episode, the chiptune plays which is mixed with an orchestral version of the tune. The video (shown below, right) received over 11.9 million views in over thirteen years.



On January 6th, 2012, YouTube user ManualMonaro used the chiptune in a Christmas video involving Gabe Newell and Indrick Boreale, with Boreale's lines being mixed to the music.[6] The video (shown below, left) received over 197,000 views in over eleven years. On Februrary 24th, 2012, ManualMonaru uploaded a full version of of the song to YouTube (shown below, right) which received over 530,000 views in over eleven years.[7]



The tune was remixed by 3laiton and used as music for the Ghost Inmate ending (shown below, left) for the Henry Stickmin game Fleeing The Complex, which was first released on November 12th, 2015.[8] The full remix was posted to Newgrounds by 3lation on November 4th, 2019, where it received over 53,000 listens and over 3,300 downloads.[9] In Deltarune: Chapter 2, which was released on September 17th, 2021,[10] Spamton will talk to you about buying a keygen from him, in which the music in his store changes to a tune that is very similar to Unreeeal Superhero 3 (shown below, right).
