About
Deltarune: Chapter 2 refers to the sequel of Deltarune, developed by Toby Fox and released on September 17th, 2021. Chapter 2 was released as free DLC to the game, which was also released for free, although future chapters were promised to be released all at once for a paid amount.
History
With the release of Deltarune, it was already expected that future releases could be released episodically depending on Toby Fox's development timeline. It was originally released for PC only on September 17th, but the Nintendo Direct on September 24th had the game also releasing for the Nintendo Switch with the release announcement being uploaded to YouTube later that day. The announcement video was posted to the official Nintendo YouTube channel[1] where it received 180,000 views in six days (shown below).
Online Presence
The game quickly caught fire online, with various YouTube content creators making longform videos featuring entire playthroughs, secrets and easter egg gathering, and predictions for future installments. Most notably to come in this game was the memes and responses to the characters, which was far greater than seen in Chapter 1.
Tasque Manager
Tasque Manager is the name of a character found in the Queen's mansion later in the game. The character is seen as a direct opposite to the secret boss character from the first chapter, Jevil, and directly references him inside game dialogue. Tasque manager has become the subject of a lot of fanarts and meme redraws, as seen in the post to Twitter on September 19th, 2021.[2]
Spamton
Spamton is the name of a character found within the game who's role in the game is directly tied to player character actions. If the player-character tries to go through the alternate route to finishing the game, Spamton goes from being a vendor to being the end-chapter boss, whereas in the standard route of the game he is relegated to vendor and secret boss.
Snowgrave / Weird Route
Snowgrave / Weird route is the name of the alternative route in chapter 2 which takes direct inspiration from the Undertale Genocide route. The point of this route is to make the character Noelle stronger, but the path to getting there ends up changing the outcome of the chapter and possibly future game story.
Kris Get The Banana
Kris Get The Banana is a quote said by the Queen while Kris is driving a car. The scene itself and the quote quickly became a meme, with video and image memes being made featuring it.
