Vitalik Buterin's Bulge is an exploitable meme and reaction image depicting a viral photo of Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin taking a photo with a woman as it appears he has a large bulge in his pants. After being shared in late August 2022, the image trended on Twitter as people used it for memes and jokes online. This viral photo of Buterin is similar to others of high-profile individuals such as Elon Musk In Mykonos and Mark Zuckerberg Foil Surfing.

Origin

On August 29th, 2022, the Twitter account LilMoonLambo^[1] tweeted the photo of Vitalik Buterin with a fan throwing up double reverse peace signs, captioning the tweet "NAH IM DEAD LMFAO" in response to Buterin's outfit and prominent bulge, earning over 12,300 likes in one day (shown below).

The image immediately got meme attention following the tweet on August 29th, 2022, with many pointing out the bulge and trying to figure out exactly how to measure it. On August 29th, the Twitter account tittyrespecter^[2] posted the picture of Buterin but included various measurements as a way to claim to be able to accurately calculate the size of the buldge, earning over 450 likes in four hours (shown below, left). That same day, Twitter user 215crypto^[4] tagged Buterin in an image referencing the photo with the caption "@VitalikButerin the merge is coming," receiving 30 likes in less than 24 hours (shown below, right).

Later on August 29th, Twitter user DenhamPreen^[3] uploaded a photo of himself in the same outfit that Vitalik was wearing, complete with an overexaggerated version of the Buterin Bulge, claiming that he would "get so much action in Vitaliks summer outfit" and garnering over 3,000 likes in 12 hours (shown below, left). Also that day, Twitter user ParikPatelCFA^[5] tweeted a photoshopped image with the caption "So great to finally meet Vitalik Buterin, creator of Ethereum!" and their face on top of the girl's, receiving over 2,000 likes in less than 24 hours (shown below, right).
