"We do not grant you the rank of master" is a famous quote from the film Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, where it is said by Mace Windu to Anakin Skywalker. Online, it is commonly used as Anakin's ultimate yet unattainable goal.

Origin

In the film, Anakin (Hayden Christensen) informs his masters on the Jedi council that Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) has appointed him to be his representative on the Jedi council. Anakin hopes this will earn himself a place on the council as a Jedi master. However, Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson) appoints him to the council without granting him the rank, outraging Anakin.

Yoda: "Allow this appointment [of you as Palpatine's representative] lightly, the council does not. Disturbing is this move by Chancellor Palpatine."
Anakin: "I understand."
Windu: "You are on this council, but we do not grant you the rank of master."
Anakin: (shocked, looking around) "What? How can you do this? This is outrageous! It's unfair! How can you be on the council and not be a master?"
Windu: (sternly) "Take a seat, young Skywalker."
