"Why Must You Hurt Me in This Way" is a memorable quote uttered by the character Ron in a Harry Potter parody video series Potter Puppet Pals. Online, screenshots of the character saying the line has been used in a reaction image macro series.
Origin
On November 2nd, 2006, YouTuber Neil Cicierega released the video "Potter Puppet Pals: Wizard Angst." In the video, the character Harry Potter says, "No tomfoolery today, Ron. I'm sick of your dreadful speckled mug." Ron responds, "Why must you hurt me in this way." Within 14 years, the video received more than 25 million views (shown below).

On June 5th, 2014, Tumblr [1] user ohhaiitsarielle used a screenshot from the scene in a conversation with several other users. The post received more than 169,000 notes in less than six years. Months later, on January 9th, 2015, iFunny [2] user MrsFischbach_2013 shared the exchange. The post received more than 130 reactions as of February 2020.
The following year, on November 4th, 2015, YouTuber Cyros Ignika shared an isolated video of the moment. The post recieved more than 31,000 views
