Me BTW If You Even Care is a phrasal template meme that is often used alongside photos of cute or silly-looking animals. The phrase originated from a Tumblr text post by @logarto that read, "meow btw. if you even care." The phrase subsequently came to be used on X and Instagram to post critters or cute drawings alongside the catchphrase "This is me btw. If you even care".

Origin

On December 30th, 2021, Tumblr^[1] user @logarto made a text post that read, "meow btw. if you even care." The post gathered over 70,000 notes in two years (seen below).

Spread

On July 28th, 2022, Tumblr^[2] user @imsoglitter posted a text post using the quote, gathering over 40,000 notes in a year (seen below).

On September 7th, 2022, Tumblr^[3] page @tony-the-tigers-juicy-armpit posted an image of a tiger with the caption, "Wet beast wednesday IF you even care," gathering over 58,000 notes in a year (seen below, left). On December 16th, 2022, now-deactivated Tumblr^[4] page @byehellsitelmao made a post using the catchphrase, gathering over 24,000 notes in ten months (seen below, right).

On January 17th, 2023, X^[5] user @meetthecreepa posted a photo of a Garfield plushie dressed as Dracula with the caption ,"this is me btw.. if you even care." The post gathered over 8,000 likes in seven months (seen below, left). On May 4th, 2022, Instagram^[6] page @_kingorange posted an image of a fish using the catchphrase, gathering over 60,000 likes in three months (seen below, right).
