About
Your Body, My Choice is a catchphrase popularized by far-right political commentator and groyper Nicholas J. Fuentes in the aftermath of Donald Trump winning the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election. The phrase, which saw previous usage on 4chan, is a play on the popular abortion rights slogan, "My body, my choice." An audio clip of Nick Fuentes saying, "Your body, my choice," became a viral sound on TikTok in early November 2024 with women using it to express their concerns about women's rights under a Trump presidency. A tweet of him proclaiming the same statement also began making the rounds on Twitter during the same timeframe.
Origin
Precursor
The phrase "your body, my choice" can be traced to 4chan forums as early as 2014. However, earlier mentions of the phrase were from channers claiming that women adopt a "your body, my choice" attitude when it comes to male circumcision. An anonymous post in a thread about male circumcision on 4chan's /pol/ from April 28th, 2014 reads, "Feminists to men: >Your body MY CHOICE Men to feminists: >Just wait for us to get ours."[12]
On May 3rd, 2020, a 4chan user used the phrase to criticize vaccines and mock a woman defending women's rights while a February 2021 post used an image of the GigaChad meme alongside the catchphrase.[13][14]
