The emojis became a popular exploitable in August 2022, with reimagined versions of the meme as different characters, parodying a Spanish version of the meme Ackchyually saying De Hecho.

The earliest available post that parodies the πŸ€“β˜ combination was made by Reddit[1] user u/legendarien21 on February 17th, 2022 (shown below), in which he shared an image of the British kid's cartoon Cubeez with an overlay text in Spanish saying "de hecho," meaning "actually" in English.

A few months later, in August and early October 2022, the πŸ€“β˜ combination with the text "de hecho" was popularized as a reaction meme and exploitable image macro with Latin American Twitter users, who started to create multiple variations of the emojis. It was often posted as a meme on social parodying the Ackchyually meme. For instance, Twitter[2] user @MerenguesNitus used the cat version of the "de hecho" meme to joke about a tweet thread. The post, uploaded on August 18th, 2022, received 205 likes in seven months (shown below).

TikTok users have also joined the trend, creating meme videos about the emoji combination. For example, TikTok[3] user @lekuhsita posted a drawing of the πŸ€“β˜ combination on January 7th, 2023. The video (shown below, left) garnered 7,000 plays and 280 likes in two months. Another example is the parody video uploaded by TikTok[4] user @somerandommmf_ on February 4th, 2023, showing the KTLA TV channel anchors reacting to an earthquake. The video (shown below, right) received 2.5 million plays and 421,900 likes in one month.
