Actor Lance Reddick, Known For 'The Wire' And 'Destiny,' Dead At 60

Lance Reddick, an actor, musician and voice actor known for roles in films like John Wick, the TV series The Wire and video games like Destiny and Destiny 2, was found dead in his Studio City home this morning.

Reddick was 60 years old and doing a press tour for John Wick 4. According to reports, Reddick died of "natural causes." Just yesterday, he posted a photo to Instagram at home with his dogs.


Reddick, who recently starred in the Resident Evil live-action Netflix series, had a powerful presence online and in meme culture over his many years as a beloved celebrity.

In 2018, a copypasta was born out of a monologue Reddick gave as Commander Zavala from Destiny, known as, Whether We Wanted It Or Not, We've Stepped Into War With The Cabal On Mars.


In 2021, the actor went viral on Twitter, Reddit and other social media platforms after he famously voiced a Destiny 2 meme for a fan, making him one of the most beloved actors in Bungie's video game series of all time.


His 2013 appearance on The Eric Andre Show has also resulted in numerous viral clips online. At the time of his death, Reddick was working on the currently unreleased Percy Jackson and the Olympians reboot for Disney+, in which he plays the Greek god Zeus.


Reddick is survived by his wife Stephanie and his two children Yvonne Nicole and Christopher.

As word has rapidly spread online over the last few hours since his death was first reported by TMZ, tributes from fans, the entertainment industry and his colleagues have poured in as people reflect on his tragic passing by remembering some of the actor's most iconic moments.
