The Baymax-centric television show Baymax! debuted on Disney+ today and the Big Hero 6 spin-off is already generating a buzz on social media, albeit probably not the buzz Disney was hoping for.

A clip caught the attention of conservative activist Christopher Rufo, known for his outspoken opinions against topics like Critical Race Theory and supporting Florida's "Don't Say Gay" bill about teaching kids the existence of queer people.

The clip features Baymax, a personal healthcare robot, shopping for women's hygiene products. The robot asks a nearby shopper what she would recommend, which then snowballs into all the nearby shoppers recommending Baymax various tampons and pads. Among that crowd appears to be a transgender man wearing a trans flag shirt.

"EXCLUSIVE: I've obtained leaked video from Disney's upcoming show "Baymax," which promotes the transgender flag and the idea that men can have periods to children as young as two years old," tweeted Rufo. "It's all part of Disney's plan to re-engineer the discourse around kids and sexuality."

Rufo's tweet called attention to the blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment of transgender representation in the series, but rather than spark widespread outrage, it seemed Rufo unintentionally succeeded in largely generating a wave of kudos thrown Disney's way.

Hyperbolic reactions to anything remotely queer in children's media have proven an often successful way for conservatives to get attention on Twitter in recent weeks.

Recently, conservative Nick Adams got ratioed for claiming that a one-second kiss between women in Lightyear was akin to castrating Buzz Lightyear in the name of Marxism. Earlier this month, Libs of TikTok inspired a day's worth of outrage at Pizza Hut because the fast-food chain included a children's book about drag on its summer reading recommendations.
