James Corden Announces His Upcoming Departure From Late Late Show, World Celebrates Its Imminent Corden-less Future
James Corden, arguably the Nickelback of television personalities in that he's extremely popular despite seemingly nobody liking him, has announced that he will leave his gig as host of the CBS late-night program The Late Late Show in 2023, causing much celebration on social media.
No combination of words in the English language is more beautiful than, "James Corden will leave." https://t.co/267w6oj8N6

The Carpool Karaoke comedian made the announcement at a taping last night, stating that he will return to his homeland the U.K. after his seven-year stint in the U.S. He will continue to host the show until spring 2023 when he promises he will "go out with a bang."
While speculation ramps up for who could replace him, many took the moment to celebrate the end of Corden's run on late-night TV, where critics largely found him cloying and unfunny.
James Corden is apparently returning to the UK.
The police have said they are taking this threat very seriously and will be increasing security on the set of the Wicked movie to be safe.— All That Dazzles (@ATDazzles) April 29, 2022

James Corden to leave The Late Late Show and hints at a major career change, with ‘isolated mountain hermit’ being the public’s preferred choice.

Some of Corden's critics weren't so jubilant, though. As Corden announced his intent to "see what's out there," several noted that the departure could free up Corden to star in more films, where his performances have been less than well-received.
This is NOT good news.
Think about how many bad movies James Corden made WHILE he had a full time job. A Pandora's box has been unleashing. He'll be spider-man before the decade's out https://t.co/IdOAl0QA4w— Quinton Reviews🎬 (@Q_Review) April 28, 2022
I’m just worried James Corden will have more time to be in musical movie adaptations that no one wants him in https://t.co/NprLnsCObR

James Corden leaving the late show is like when you try to kill a spider but miss, and it disappears under your bed. You don't know where it is, what it's doing, and when it might strike next. How can you soundly sleep at night knowing it could be anywhere?

The future is uncertain for Corden haters, but for now, they can celebrate that soon there will be one less screen on which to see him.
