Continuing his stream of special-edition NFTs, Nyan Cat creator Chris Torres unveiled a unique collaboration with rapper Snoop Dogg today for a little 4/20 event in the form of three limited-edition crypto-collectibles.

Kicking off yesterday and running through midnight tonight PST, Snoop Dogg and Nyan Cat have joined forces for three one-of-one NFTs, dubbed “Nyan Dogg” (a Snoop-themed Nyan Cat), “Hazy Nyan Cat” (a weed-themed twist on the original) and “Nyan Blunt” (a Snoop-Dogg-branded blunt reminiscent of the OG Nyan Cat).

Currently, the Nyan Dogg NFT is available on the crypto art marketplace Open Sea, with the top bid sitting at 4.2069 (nice) ETH, which comes to just over $9,000. According to the auction’s listing, owning this NFT grants the following stats: “Izzle+213, LBC+420, Sticky Icky+1000.”

The collaboration between Torres and Snoop marks one of the most high-profile celebrities entering the crypto art space, and earlier today, we spoke with Torres to hear more about how it all came together.

“So the folks over at BeetsDAO contacted me one day asking about my ideas on something special to do for 4/20,” Torres told us. “I brought up the thought of working with Snoop Dogg because that’d just be the most 4/20 thing yet. Turns out Snoop is a fan of Nyan Cat and was into it right away! He’s been really awesome with the whole process and I am very proud of our work together on this collaboration.”

Regarding the collab, Torres told us that, since Snoop was already a Nyan Cat fan, he approved the designs right away, which were based on the style of his classic Doggystyle album artwork.

“He’s been showing his support for my art on Twitter. I’m just like, ‘I’m being retweeted by Snoop Dogg!’ every time lol.”

According to one tweet from Snoop himself earlier today, the ultimate owners of these limited-edition NFTs “may get the chance to stream n smoke wit me,” so long as you’re on PC. Snoop has been an active Twitch streamer for a while now, so we’re assuming that means they’ll get to join him on there sometime in the near future.
