Intercept reporter and Twitter prankster extraordinaire Ken Klippenstein has pulled off his latest troll with terrific results, getting prominent Republican congressmen and TCOTs, including Matt Gaetz and Dinesh D'Souza, to salute Lee Harvey Oswald, John F. Kennedy's assassin, on Twitter.

Klippenstein has been pulling off the ruse annually for several years and has gotten Steve King and Richard Grennell in the past. However, this is by far his most successful troll, as Lee Harvey Oswald trended on Twitter yesterday.

This was aided in part by conservative provocateur Candace Owens, who was not a mark of the troll but chimed in with disgust that Klippenstein would photoshop Oswald into a marine uniform. The issue is that Klippenstein did no such thing: Lee Harvey Oswald served as a marine from 1956-1959.

This, in turn, caused Klippsentein to heighten the prank, claiming Owens got him fired from his job (she didn't; Klippenstein still has his job). Friends of his joined in, claiming Klippenstein was "Fired for Truth."

And so passed yet another day on Twitter in which conservatives got trolled very publically and owned online. See you next year, Ken.
